Western Washington University

Western Washington University is the lone MBA program in what we have determined to be the geographically distinct NW Washington region.  Located in Bellingham, the WWU campus is 90 miles north of Seattle and with 16,000 undergraduate and graduate students is the third largest public university in Washington, behind UW and WSU.  The WWU MBA program is offered in four formats—accelerated, traditional, evening, and weekend.
Students with undergraduate degrees in business may take the accelerated, one-year program in Bellingham.  The one-year program will cost students around $17,000 and that makes it a bargain compared to the Seattle area schools.  A weekend program is offered in Everett for Seattle-area professionals that requires two years to complete.   The WWU MBA is fully AACSB accredited and has made the Aspen Institute’s list of the top 100 MBA programs.

The Life:  Bellingham is located 90 miles north of Seattle and 50 miles south of Vancouver, BC, so students in search of cultural activities won’t have far to go to find them.  Puget Sound is just over the bluff from campus and world class ski resorts are nearby.

Drawbacks:  The bargain price of the accelerated program doesn’t translate to the other MBA programs at WWU, which require two years and many more credits to complete.  Regardless of which program you click on the WWU MBA web page, they quote the cost of the accelerated degree.
